Frequently Asked Questions
We've got answers to your questions! Prepare for an amazing experience when you visit The Method.
No. Everyone has a pelvic floor. While often associated with pregnancy, men also experience pelvic floor dysfunction, including pelvic pain, urinary issues, and post-surgical recovery (such as prostate-related procedures). Our clinics provide a private, comfortable environment for both men and women to address these concerns.
Common signs include leaking when you laugh, run, or jump (incontinence), frequent or urgent needs to use the bathroom, pelvic or genital pain, and pain during intimacy. If you feel "heaviness" in the pelvic region or have chronic lower back or hip pain that hasn't responded to traditional PT, your pelvic floor may be the missing piece. Back or hip pain that just can’t seem to clear up? Might be coming from the pelvic floor, it’s all connected
We understand that starting pelvic floor therapy can feel intimidating. That’s why creating a comfortable, supportive environment is a priority from day one. Your first visit is a 60-minute, one-on-one evaluation in a private room. We’ll walk through your history and goals, then perform a full-body assessment including movement, strength, and mobility. At The METHOD, we treat the body as a system so the pelvic floor is always considered. If an internal assessment is appropriate, we’ll explain exactly what it involves and only move forward with your consent. You’ll never be surprised, rushed, or pressured.
Absolutely. Your pelvic floor is the "bottom" of your core canister. If it isn't functioning correctly, you cannot manage intra-abdominal pressure effectively, which leads to power loss during heavy lifts or high-impact sports. We help you sync your breathing and pelvic floor to maximize your stability and output.
Not necessarily. Assessment and treatment are always a collaborative decision. While internal work can provide specific data, we can make significant progress using external techniques, and specialized exercise programming. Your comfort and autonomy are our top priorities.
